How Does This Work?

Hello world!

Here goes another shot at this Blog thing…
If there were only a few (like 5) more hours in each day, I might be able to take a small chunk out of all of the things I want to do before I die. I am reminded of a saying a good friend in college used to say all the time –

“Make time, save time, while time lasts. All time is no time once time has past.”

It is funny how true that rings with life. Especially my life as a musician and percussionist – responsible for keeping time – all the time! The most interesting and possibly addicting aspect of music for me is the way it effects my perception of time. Once the music starts, the only time that exists is the tempo of the music. The rest of the universe’s concept of time disappears for me completely. What an amazing phenomena! I would guess that exact phenomena was the cause of many missed deadlines, failed relationships, broken promises, missed opportunities… and fantastic musical experiences!

I remember countless nights during college going into the practice room to work on something and the next thing I knew the sun was up and I hadn’t slept a wink – which reminds me of another saying the head of the percussion department, my advisor, my mentor, and one of my greatest heroes, “Dr. Bob” Robert Ledbetter would say every time I said I was tired, “You can sleep when you’re dead!” And here I am in my mid 40’s writing a blog about it at 2:00 in the morning.

How do you solve the time issue? I have been working on that for a while now and found another quote From Warren Buffet “If you aren’t making money while you sleep, you will work until you die.” So how do you make money while you sleep? Write a blog? Sell products on Amazon? Invest in Bitcoin? Sell music online? I am not really sure but I guess I will try them all until something works.

I decided to add a few sections to my website: http://jeswebermusic.com/
Don’t get too excited – It is still a work in progress (and to tell you the truth, I haven’t even put my website out to the world yet) but I am about to put myself out there and hope this will be a small piece of the pie that gives me a few less hours of work to pay off debt and afford to keep the ridiculously expensive roof over my head in my San Francisco sanctuary. So here goes world – I am putting my intention out there – Three big goals to provide me with a healthy abundance of time and money…

1. I consider myself an outstanding photographer and have a substantial collection of photos outside of the music photos. I am going upload them to my website available for purchase.
2. The next, and more daunting goal, is to record a series of video lessons and make them available for download.
3. The third and most terrifying goal is to (finally) record all of my original songs and make them available for download.

Now to my readers – I have an ask of you –
1. Would you buy a picture if it moved you, stirred up emotions, and made you happy? how much would you pay for it?
2. Would you pay for a video lesson? Would you buy a monthly membership for a series of Percussion lessons? How much would you pay? What lessons would you want to see?
3. Do you want to hear my original songs? Is the world even ready for that?
4. Would you be more inclined to contribute monetarily to preserving an artists ability to create in a different way?

If anyone is reading this please comment and let me know that some small piece of the Universe is listening!

That is all for tonight – be warned, I am going to start blogging here. I hope you are ready for it!
