Well, I was on track to have my most successful year in music to date at the start of 2020. I was booked for parties, weddings, festivals, club shows, private events, and 3 tours! This was going to be the year that really defined my career. Then COVID 19 hit the world like freight train. Every single thing I had worked so hard to achieve was pulled out from under me in an instant!
It is unbelievable how difficult it has been to deal with the complete upheaval of life as I knew it. I have always thrived on the reaction of an audience. It feeds me like nothing else. The absence of performance in my life has been the hardest to deal with.
The lack of income and having to swallow my pride and apply for unemployment was tough but the loss of human interaction trumps all of that! The huge void left where once lived the invigorating energy of an audience dancing to my rhythm has left me in a state of complete sorrow. What is worse is the fact that none of us know if this will ever return in the same manner that we all once loved.
On the up side, it has given us all plenty of time to practice and harness our creative energy! It has also given us time to reconnect with ourselves and the people that matter most in our lives.
That being said, I am happy to announce that I am well into writing my first solo album! This is not a small undertaking so do not expect it to come out tomorrow but be warned… it is coming!
